Florian Ledoux is a wildlife and nature photographer, cinematographer and film director who has spent more than 15 years documenting the polar regions, with a particular focus on the Arctic ecosystem and polar bears.

My camera lets me witness these moments and share them with people who may never experience these wild places themselves.

Florian Ledoux

Nikon has never simply been about equipment. It is an extension of my heart and soul in the wild.

Florian Ledoux

For Ledoux, photography and filmmaking are rooted in immersion. He spends months living in the Arctic, slowing down to observe individual polar bears and reveal personality, emotion and resilience rather than simply documenting behaviour. This patient, humble approach reflects his belief that nature is the greatest artist, and that images can inspire people to feel a sense of belonging to the natural world before they are asked to understand it. Ledoux began using Nikon early in his career, drawn to the reliability he needed as his work moved into more remote and demanding environments. Over the years, his Nikon system evolved from the Nikon D3 and Nikon D4 through to today's Nikon Z9 and Nikon Z8, paired with the NIKKOR Z 180-600mm and NIKKOR Z 24-70mm lenses. He values the robustness of his equipment in extreme cold, wind and snow, as well as the seamless transition between high-resolution stills and professional video that the Nikon Z9 and Nikon Z8 provide, allowing him to document unpredictable wildlife behaviour while staying present in the moment.

His relationship with Nikon began nearly 20 years ago with an entry-level Nikon DSLR bought out of curiosity. As his craft and career developed, he progressed naturally through the Nikon system; today he relies on the Nikon Z8 and Nikon Zf as his primary bodies. He pairs those cameras with a versatile set of NIKKOR Z lenses, the NIKKOR Z 85mm f/1.2 S for intimate, tactile portraits, the NIKKOR Z 24–70mm f/2.8 S for documentary coverage and environmental frames, and the NIKKOR Z 70–200mm f/2.8 VR S when he needs reach and compression.

The reliability, low‑light performance and responsiveness of the Z series let Gurvir stay fully present with his couples, confident that every emotional detail and once‑in‑a‑lifetime moment will be captured precisely, even in the most challenging conditions.
